How the rental contract works, what data we hold, and what we do with it. Summarised in plain language; the signed rental agreement governs.
Who we are
One Way Rentals LLC, registered in North Carolina, operating six branches across NC and SC. Our registered office is 412 W Trade St, Charlotte NC 28202.
The rental agreement
Booking online creates a reservation, not a contract of hire. The contract begins when you sign the rental agreement at pick-up, which sets out the vehicle, dates, cover and charges.
What we collect
Name, contact details, date of birth, driver licence details, and a payment card token. Vehicles report location, speed and diagnostic data while on hire, which we use for safety, recovery and fleet planning.
How we use location data
Live location is retained for the duration of the rental plus 30 days, then deleted. We do not sell it. We share it only with emergency services, recovery agents, or law enforcement acting on a valid request.
Payments and disputes
Card details are held by our payment processor, not by us. Disputed charges must be raised within 60 days of the rental ending, in writing to [email protected].
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or ask us to delete it once no rental or claim is open. Requests are answered within 30 days.
